It is a good choice to go hiking with friends on a sunny day. You can have fun and social interaction through hiking and enhance your physical and mental health.

The importance of moisture permeability in outdoor wear

The primary function of "moisture-permeable" is to release the moisture and sweat vapor generated by the body due to exercise so that the sweat inside the jacket will not cause the body to be clammy and cold. Thereby achieving the effect of cooling and maintaining excellent comfort and dryness.

Moisture permeability can be measured through the Japan─ JIS L1099 test divided into two methods: A1: upright cup test and B1: inverted cup test. Microporous waterproof and moisture-permeable products are suitable for the A1 test method, and the hydrophilic type is ideal for the B1 method.

Hydrophobic fabric product testing

JIS L 1099 A1 uses calcium chloride solution in a cup to simulate sweating. A piece of fabric is then secured over the cup and placed in a controlled environment. After a while, the cup is weighed to see how much water has been absorbed into the cup through the fabric. The weight is then extrapolated to show the number of grams per 24 hours per square meter (g/m2‧24hrs) of sweat that will pass through the fabric.

Hydrophilic fabric product testing

The JIS L 1099 B1 Put the desiccant potassium acetate in the cup. The fabric to be tested is placed on the cup with the fabric side facing the cup, and the cup is placed upside down in the water. After a while, the cup is weighed to see how much water has been absorbed into the cup through the fabric. The weight is then extrapolated to show the number of grams per 24 hours per square meter of fabric that will pass through the fabric.
